The Sloecentrale is a modern gas-fired power plant with a power capacity of 870MW. This output equals the electricity consumption of two million households.
Its production is highly flexible, which allows the plant to easily adapt to the ever-changing energy demands. It can reach its maximum capacity in just 35 minutes and is therefore ideally featured to back-up the power required when wind and solar energy fall short. The Sloecentrale plays an important role in the energy market, providing a total of five percent of the Dutch electricity supply. It relies on sophisticated technology and committed staff, and is certified in accordance with the latest requirements concerning quality, safety, and the environment.
